We aim to empower Burundi's youth by tackling key challenges and offering innovative solutions in six strategic areas of impact.

Note 1 ✍️

Diaspora facts

A study conducted by International Organization for Migration in 2014 estimate that nearly 350, 000 Burundians live in diaspora.

Whether driven by political concerns or in pursuit of employment opportunities, a significant number took their valuable skills away from Burundi. Others left for education but find it difficult to return due to limited job prospects in the country.

Note 2 ✍️

Education in Burundi

The mind-boggling revelation from the Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies in Burundi (ISTEEBU) unveils an astonishing paradox: Every year, a staggering 65,000 high school students and 5,600 university students successfully complete their studies.

One would anticipate this influx to spark remarkable changes in education and economics, but only if these graduates truly hold the key to quality education.

Note 3 ✍️

Job Market in Burundi

In 2022, statistica reported that 81% of the population in Burundi was unemployed, highlighting the youths' significant economic challenges.

From 2000 to 2020 the Burundian population doubled from 6 million inhabitants to 12 million, according to ISTEBU estimates, with this same rate in 2050 there will be more than 25 million , which involves a lot of mouths to feed.
